LVD low voltage test
LVD Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU refers to the regulatory directives of Member States on electrical equipment designed for use within specific voltage limits. The objective of LVD is to ensure the safety of low-voltage equipment in use. The application scope of the directive is to use electrical products with AC voltage between 50V and 1500V and DC voltage between 75V and 1500V. This directive contains all safety rules for this equipment, including protection against hazards caused by mechanical reasons. The design and structure of the equipment shall ensure that there is no danger when it is used under normal working conditions or fault conditions according to its intended purpose, especially for the following hazards:

一、Low voltage command "and" Low voltage

Low Voltage Directive (LVD): Originally formulated in 1973, namely Directive 73/23/EEC, this Directive has undergone several amendments and was updated to 2006/95/EC in 2006 according to the EU's legal rules, but its substantive content has not changed. In March 2014, the European Union issued a new version of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, which replaces the original 2006/95/EC Directive. The new directive came into force on April 20, 2016。

二、Requirements of LVD Directive

The requirements of the LVD Directive can be summarized as 10 safety objectives under 3 conditions:

1.Safety requirements under general conditions:

(1)Ensure that the electrical equipment can be used correctly according to the design purpose, and the basic performance should be identified on the equipment or the attached report。

(2)Electrical equipment and its components shall be designed to ensure safe and correct installation and connection。

(3)If the equipment is used for its design purpose and properly maintained, its design and production shall ensure that it can meet the hazard protection requirements in the following two situations。

2.Safety protection requirements in case of risks arising from the equipment itself:

(1)Adequate protection for people and livestock from physical injury or other hazards caused by direct or indirect electrical contact。

(2)No dangerous temperatures, arcs or radiation。

(3)Adequate protection shall be provided for people, livestock and property, and they will not be endangered by common non electrical hazards (such as fire) caused by electrical equipment。

(4)Proper insulation protection under foreseeable conditions。

3.Safety protection requirements for equipment under external influence:

(1)Meet the expected mechanical performance requirements without endangering people, livestock and property。

(2)It can resist non mechanical impacts under expected environmental conditions, so as not to endanger people, livestock and property。

(3)In case of foreseeable overload (overload), it will not endanger people, livestock and property

三、In case of foreseeable overload (overload), it will not endanger people, livestock and property:

EN60950 Security test of information technology products

EN60335-1 Safety test of household appliances

EN60601-1/EN61010 Safety Testing of Industrial, Medical and Scientific Products

EN60065 security test of audio products

EN60598 Safety Test of Lamps

EN61558 Power Transformer Product Testing

EN61029 Test of electric tools

EN61347 Test of lamp control devices

EN60034 Test of industrial motor products

EN60432 Test of bulb products

EN292 Basic concepts of mechanical safety

EN60730 Household Automatic Control Product Test

EN71 toy product test

EN62094 Test of signal lamp products

EN12157 Testing of Water Pump Products

EN ISO12100 EN60204 Mechanical Product Testing

四、Data list submitted by CE-LVD

1.Submit application materials to qualified certification bodies, such as application documents containing basic information of applicants and products。

2.Submit product operation instructions and product technical documents (such as circuit design drawings, component lists, component certification data, etc.)。

3.The certification authority conducts product testing according to relevant standards, and issues a test report after the product passes the test。

4.The certification authority shall issue CE-LVD certificate according to relevant data and test report。

The products with CE-LVD certificates need to maintain the consistency of product safety, do not change the product structure, functions, key components at will, and save the corresponding technical data for supervision and inspection

We keep abreast of all the latest regulatory changes, and have long and rich experience in providing CE low-voltage related services for electrical products。

We can carry out electrical safety tests on most products in the advanced laboratories or customer premises of T | V South Deutsche Group to help the products to be put on the market quickly. Our technical experts are members of the International Advisory Committee on Standards Development, so we can ensure that your products are fully compliant。
